ADVOCATE- Join the Louisiana Stop Solitary Coalition's efforts to advocate for immediate solitary confinement reform for vulnerable populations (juveniles, pregnant women and those with mental health diagnoses) while working to end solitary confinement for everyone in Louisiana. MONITOR legislation and policies and ORGANIZE members and your community to act.
The LSSC welcomes YOU to join the coalition to help bring about the end of solitary confinement in Louisiana’s jails and prisons.
The Louisiana Stop Solitary Coalition consists of three sub-committees:
The Jail Sub-committee focuses on jail-related issues having to do with solitary confinement.
The Faith Sub-committee addresses solitary confinement from a moral perspective.
The DOC Sub-committee meets with officials at the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections to advocate for reform of policies and standards to reduce and eventually eliminate solitary confinement in Louisiana's jails and prisons.
