About the event
As part of our commitment to ending solitary confinement and amplifying the voices of survivors, the ISSC Retreat will feature a powerful film screening followed by an in-depth panel discussion. The screening will highlight the lived experiences of individuals who have endured solitary confinement, exposing the devastating psychological, emotional, and physical impacts of isolation.
Immediately following the film, a panel of directly impacted survivors and experts will engage in a critical discussion about the realities of solitary confinement, its role in the criminal legal system, and the urgent need for reform. The panel will also explore pathways toward healing, accountability, and systemic change—uplifting the leadership of those most affected.
